1. INTRODUCTION
Company Balby international was establish in 1990, by Prof. Dr.Dusan Babac, civ eng. and his son Ph. D. Pavle Babac, civ. eng. Company has very well developed collaboration with all significant companies and distinguished experts in our country. It also has good business relations with successful engineering companies both in Yugoslavia and in Europe. Today company Balby international has 20 employees (10 engineers and rest technical staff).
The "BALBY INTERNATIONAL" Engineering, Consulting and Construction Company was founded in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, and member and associates are eminent experts and specialists who have considerably contributed to solving numerous hydraulic engineering and hydraulic construction problems all over the Republic of Serbia and Yugoslavia and applied their knowledge and experiences in constructing numerous hydro engineering structures in Europe and in the world.
Dealing parallel with theoretical studies and successfully applying the theoretical solutions to numerous examples in practice, experts of the "BALBY INTERNATIONAL" Company became acknowledged and well- known members of international organizations and scientific associations. Their work is recognized by participation at numerous scientific - engineering conferences, congresses, etc., both in the country and abroad. Experts of the "BALBY INTERNATIONAL" Company are the bearers of the highest scientific titles and functions - they are university professors and members of scientific institutions.
The "BALBY INTERNATIONAL" Company was founded with the humane purpose to assist people in increasing their standard of living to the level recognized in the highly - developed countries. Fresh water supply, drainage of excess water, water pollution control, waste - water treatment, river regulation and flood control, artificial lakes, construction of dams and reservoirs make only a part of numerous references the specialists and experts of the "BALBY INTERNATIONAL" Company may be proud of. For these purposes the most contemporary facilities, methods and programs are used by the Company. All this resulted in more than 500 designs, studies and reports, of which more than 70% are implemented and put into operation. Adding to this more than 150 published papers and a considerable number of printed publications and books, a real picture can be gained on the capacity of the team of experts involved in the "BALBY INTERNATIONAL" Company.
2. REVIEW OF THE BASIC ACTIVITIES
2.1. WATER SUPPLY
The Company is specialized in studying the water resources of surface and ground waters, defining the quantity and quality water, determination of structures for surface and ground water intake, designing of surface and ground water sources as well as designing of all appurtenant structures within the water supply systems.
The Company is also dealing with designing of reservoirs, pumping stations, main pipelines and sewerage network.
In this domain the Company prepares designs of special water intake systems, deep wells and specific well constructions (wells with horizontal drains).
The Company is also specialized in preparation of tender documents for surface and ground water treatment plants.
2.2. SEWERAGE AND RAINWATER DRAINAGE NETWORK
The Company prepares designs for sewerage and rainwater networks, pumping stations and plants for sewerage and rain water treatment, in relation to the amount and demanded degree of purification different types of plants for sewage and rain water treatment are being designed.
2.3. HYDRAULIC ENGINEERING STRUCTURES
The Company has large experience in designing numerous hydraulic engineering structures, accumulation lakes, pumping stations, well structures, dams earth - filled, concrete, gabions, etc.), reservoirs, river regulation, supply channels, etc.
2.4. LAND RECLAMATION
Studying the quality of soils for cultivation and preparation of designs for drainage works, pipelines and channel networks as well as preparation of designs for irrigation works with numerous, at present already acknowledged systems. There are numerous references on the preparation of agricultural projects which, in addition to irrigation and drainage, also contain the designs for farmer houses, road networks and appurtenant infrastructure.
2.5. OTHER ACTIVITIES
The Company has extremely large experience in investigations of water resources, designing and maintenance of artificial and natural lakes within the recreation centers, the computations in preparation of complex structures in terms of high ground water levels, etc.
2.6. SUPERVISION ACTIVITIES
The Company provides qualified staff for carrying out all kinds of supervision in the above mentioned activities and also has numerous references on supervision works both in the country and abroad.
2.7. WASTE DEPOSIT AREAS
Respecting the existing criteria for selection of location of the waste deposit areas in the Republic of Serbia, the Company prepares designs of waste deposit areas without or with using foil, in dependence on the soil type and permeability, i. e. the location where such areas are planned.
2.8. RIVER REGULATION
River regulation designs are prepared within the scope of solving the problems of watershed management and flood control. Experts of the Company have so far solved numerous assignments in the field of river regulation and flood control.
